I asked about the missing rating system a while back,  found this in case anyone else was curious why posts weren't assigned stars anymore ....been a couple of months , apparently SH is kinda slow getting the new "like" system going.  Maybe they forgot ;)

Changes to rating system

We are releasing a new rating system in the coming months and in preparation for this change we will be removing the current "star" rating system from Bullboard Posts, Articles, News, Blogs, Groups. This means that there will be a period where you will not be able to rate any content. You will still be able to see existing scores for users and these scores will be brought over to the new system when it comes online.
