Acquisition target ? Don't rule out a Merger.
Back in the day I often communicated with Hiku investor relations @Will Stewart via email . In One email I suggested HIKU brands take a look at 48^ north as it seemed a perfect fit for what Hiku was doing at the time . Very female orientated and with van der pop line I felt north would fit perfect right along side that ..He replied back that it's funny I should mention that because they are in the same building (in Toronto) but on seperate floors .He said they have a great relationship with their team and will continue to keep an eye on how they progress and that they were impressed by them so far.
Now the rest is history with canopy acquiring HIKU . So that brings us to the topic of canopy . I know they own 4 M shares of north and F8 is sold through Tokyo smokes ect but I just don't see them making an offer . Bruce has said on multiple occasions that domestic acquisitions are done . (i tend to believe him).Plus it doesn't take a genius to see that they were headed states side , So if canopy is out the equation, looking around at the sector and there is not many who I feel would mesh or compliment 48^north .
Which brings me to the point of my post . i feel a merger would be better suited rather than being acquired . The partner that strikes me as a possibility would be WeedMD . I say this because when I was invested in Hiku they had an LOI to merge WeedMD&HIKu but Canopy swooped in last second and made an offer that subsequently left WeedMD at the alter .no partner .
WeedMD connections to HIKU .Hiku /Tokyo smokes/canopy relationship with north all links them together . they all know each other . .
What also is interesting is WeedMD wants to now pursue outdoor grow ** they cleared land to the side of their facility and North's license and know how would be priceless to them.
The combined entity could cover medical with WeedMD medical contracts *nano spray mother&clone would be great for medical *,multiple senior contracts and shoppers drug mart ect . Supply REC with several provincial contracts in place .WeedMD /Nrth f8 products sold already via Tokyo smokes as well. ....combined annual production could be 100k kg++. both companies watch their bottom lines and have money in the bank ..
. Indoor60k kg /outdoor 40k kg with more room at WeedMD if necessary */extraction capacity/organic products for medical side /accessories F8 /money in the bank 30-50 M.
this is ofcoarse pure speculation and just tossing out ideas for conversation sake .
