Even at this price I'm not sure who would buy them out. "over $100M in assets" with over $60M of that being "Goodwill assets"... I just can't see a larger company spending money on them considering the better opportunities. We're also getting into a situation now where larger companies are being much smarter with their acquisitions due to the overpayment of other deals. On the other hand, larger companies may just wait things out further and buy Westleaf when they HAVE to sell for pennies on the dollar. Westleaf seems to be spending like drunken sailors and I'm incredibly interested to hear why Thunderchild is so far behind schedule? Not even a peep from management on an update? Drive past site and you can verify the build is not going as planned. Will it ever get finished or did they run out of money already? The slowdown of the build seemed to coincidently fall in line with the April mercy cash deal. I'd be interested to see how much of that cash will go towards the build, and how much will be used to prop up rest of company's day to day operations (which would be a joke). I'm going to continue watching this one from afar. Like I said on other posts, I was tempted to hop in but the last few weeks have been deafening. I'm just some random on a message board, but id instruct any and all to watch this one from the sidelines for a while.
I apologize as I don't check in as frequent as I'd like. But I am here for good conversation and discussion (absolutely hate the pumpers and dumpers who go to extremes on either end).
Please help me understand where the value of this company (currently) sits in retrospect to their peers? I've done my due dilligence on these guys and am really trying to give the benefit of the doubt, but i'm having a hard time understanding where the money's going... And where it's going to come from to further expand the business. Being local, i'm familar with some of the original backers and management and am currently able to see (first hand) the stage of the construction facility. This is where my due dilligence comes from. Also knowing the sales of some of the locations in play... Unless something dramatically changes, it will take a while for cash to start rolling in and time isn't on our side.
I guess I can understand buying now, selling @ $1 (when it gets there) and then pumping your chest... But we were trading (well, not me) at 3x the current value only a few weeks ago. I'd say it's somewhat comical that folks who have been around since the $1.50+ days would thump their chest when the stock (currently trading at 60 cents/share goes up 10% in a day. Sure, you can average down... But... What makes you so confident in this company that you'd watch Management drain your share value by 1/3rd... And then double down? I understand big risk, big reward, but with so many other players out there, what is it about these guys that makes some folks so confident? I am the opposite?
