Mr. Robinson discusses the drying technique in the Edmonton tour video from a few months back.
 
The segment starts around 4:25.
 
There he mentions "30 hours" in the drying equipment, versus "7 to 10 days" when hanging it.
 
Even at 30 hours instead of 8, it seems pretty minor to me compared to the time spent growing.
