"There are always a few people who beat the standard practice"

Agreed... The educated few.

With under a million dollars to invest, no one should be picking individual stocks. There are always a few people who beat the standard practice but most will fail.

I guess Warren's not a serious investor.

Most investors play to get rich quick. Look at the form guy, he says he has only 5 stocks in his portfolio. Ask any serious investor and they will laugh at that portfolio. It is gambling and 98% of gamblers go home broke.

I have been clear on my position here, I am playing for fun, but it's not a huge % of my portfolio. The consistant payers in my portfolio have always been the boring dividend paying ones... banks, reits, life insurance companies, restaurant royalty trusts. But, they are as exciting to watch as paint dry.

Enter NRTH. It's my one smoke stack stock... maybe it blows up or maybe it goes bust. If it goes up, yay more cash to pile into some more boring dividend paying funds. If it goes bust, well I don't. I wait for more dividend earnings to build up and take another stab at something else for fun. Rinse and repeat.

Mother nature does not seem on our side. As I study further, I discover that there are many problems growing in greenhouses and those problems will be compounded outdoors. there is a reason our pot companies cannot supply enough just yet. They are having problems with spoilage IN GREENHOUSES. We are dead money walking. Instead of photos of planted weed we have messages about gay love and diversity on the company's twitter and instagram. Take your losses a bit sooner than the crowd on this one. Laliberte was not selling because he needed the money or got bored. He was selling for good reason. A billionaire's info is a bit better than yours or mine. If I'm wrong and you guys get rich, well congrats to you.  I just tire of this lottery ticket type stocks. they rarely pay off.
