Pemex Oil Production Drop in May

Pemex Oil Production Drop in May

Mexico oil production drops by another 20,000 barrels per day in May 2019.

https://oilprice.com/Energy/Crude-Oil/Mexico-Moves-To-Ramp-Up-Oil-Production.html

The Article quotes AMLO:

Lpez Obrador contradicted this reported version of events in a public statement on Thursday, saying that he has “different information,” and that, “not only has (the fall in production) stopped, but it has stabilized.”

Based on reported production numbers, which go up and down from month to month, the average monthly decline in production since May report of last year has been 19, 750 barrels per day and the decline in May of this year was reported at 20,000 barrels. The decline in May was right in line with the average monthly decline over the last year.

This monthly decline continues in spite of Pemex efforts to ramp up production. So Pemex will have to have new production coming on line with increases in production at the rate of 20,000 BOPD more per month each month, 20,000, then to 40,000, then to 60,000, to have the production stabilize.

I have not seen where Pemex has anything in the development stage that will increase production to the level that AMLO has said has happened if it has in fact stabilized. Bankers do this analyses as do Mexico's finacial analyists. The bigger the hole for Pemex and AMLO the better.

MIgration and Amititlan is a big part of the solution. Pemex, Sener and the Department of Finance know this.
