Constellationmade a move that I didn't see coming but also set the bar higher for themselves. If it is about the money and it usually is, now it is up to them to accelerate the generation of those profits. Their timing was fortuitous or not depending on the earnings reports over the next couple of quarters. If Canopy generates the revenue that makes it look good then Constellation will get the pat on the back, but if it doesn't, all bets are off.
One of my big concerns is that Bruce Linton is "the guy" that built a giant and now he's very probably mad and motivated and undoubtedly in demand. If he dumps his interests in Canopy, that alone could start a stampede to the exit but if he hooks up with an ambitious US company and the stars align, and the FEDs get their shyt together and swing the doors open to marijuana and hemp, he could do a lot of damage. The acquisitions he made for Canopy, fit very well, in the world domination for marijuanapreneurs.
Maybe Constellation is right and it is time for a marketing team approach along the same lines as their alcohol people's skillset. Time will tell! glta and dyodd
