RE:RE:RE:HaltXTHC (the company that Greengrowth RTO'd) halted with silence twice before they were bought out, the first halt was announcing a buyout that fell through, the second was what brought us early investors to GGB.

Halts are required by IIROC if there is going to be a significant material change, mostly to make sure that all interested parties get a fair chance to acquire and read the news. Sometimes the news is slow getting out as lawyers may need to thumb through it to make sure that it is compliant with the rules of the market - the halt prevents unfair gains made by leaks.
