Kyocera just announced new battery

Kyocera just announced new batterySource: Japan Today.
New process, different design and materials, except for Li.

It is 33% cheaper to manufacture, 40% saving on materials and between 200% to 300% more storing capacity, while providing an absolute safety.

Kyocera is not any kind of lab, it is manufacturer. They will begin engineering asap and plan to start manufacturing it in 2020.
So far, demand has been adjusted mostly on EV, min-storage and smartphones were disregarded. With safety, batteries for ICE cars will, likely, be Lithium based too.

What we see with batteries now, reminds me of microchip boom of 80th.
