Westleaf Inc. WSLFF

Westleaf is a Canadian cannabis company focused on cannabis brands, extraction and production of derivatives, wholly owned retail, as well as cannabis cultivation. The Company’s extraction and processing facility, The Plant, will produce high quality and consistent cannabis derivatives and consumables, both for Westleaf’s in-house brands as well as white label products. Westleaf’s retail concept, Prairie Records, leverages the instinctual tie between recreational cannabis and music.

ForFun, thanks for the comment. It seems Westleaf themselves might be realizing they need some more experience within the business, as they've brought on two board members in the last few months with backgrounds in Finance and Retail. Still a stock worth watching, as I think their production should be a bigger part of their business than the retail side anyways.

Yep.  We're quickly seeing how tough retail is for MJ companies.  The prices are set so the companies trying to mimic the premium Apple retail store "vision" simply don't have the returns needed and will soon be looking for cash to keep afloat.  I look at the US (Vegas) retail side of things as an example... And that's successful because pricing isn't defined.  Here in Canada, it's simply not sustainable.  If there was volume, maybe... But, there isn't.

I whole heartedly think that Westleaf would be far more successful at supplying wholesale instead of retail.  Try and sell their product @ volume instead of selling niche products in their niche stores, to a handful of customers.

Westleaf is in for some trouble, as are other MJ companies.  I hold shares in some other MJ companies and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared about them as well.  This is a tight knit industry and when 1 or 2 companies flounder, it sends shockwaves throughout the other companies (share values).  Luckily I don't expect to need any of the funds I have tied up for a while so i'm happy to sit back and watch.  For those of you holding $1+ Westleaf shares, i'd suggest you do the same.
