Hey Heywood,

Several people I know close to the action in the Silvercrest 1.0 (SVL) buyout have indicated that the spinout was a requirement for Eric F. to go along with it.  Keith was very-very reluctant to let the Las Chispas project go because of how prospective it was.  I think that allowing the asset spin out into SIL was the only way to not force a hostile takeover of Santa Elana.  SVL was closely held, so it might have slipped through FR's grip if it had gone hostile.  Adding to the risk at the time, FR needed the Santa Elena mine to stabalize it's cash-flow.  There is rumours that there is a bit of resentment between Keith & Eric, because of the forced the spinout, but they would negotiate again if it was in both's best business interest.  To be seen.  I see SSR as the natural long term home for Las Chispas though.

As for other potential large scale projects, would Bear-Creek sneak onto the list as well?  It's basically construction ready, just waiting for higher silver prices to secure financing.
