RE:help us gov't, HELP us...LOLHere the problem is not about the company itself but rather the sector as a whole and commodity prices (canadian ng price discount in that case). If there were no law against it, the producers would probably have agreed for some form of price-fixing. Hence, it makes sense that they need the permission of the government to propose a plan that would help achieve a similar result... It also seems reasonable that the government has financial and political interest in the well-being of the sector (employment, royalties received, not wanting to be left with having to clean thousands of wells left over due to bankruptcies...)
