RE:RE:RE:"Greatest economy in history" or worse than Obama?US$ will keep moving higher against all currencies in the coming 6-12 months. 

When there is turmoil, everybody flocks to US$.

Also, businesses use dollars to transact and nobody does business with gold. Take the simplest of examples: Apple. Look at the amount of cash that company has. Do you think they own or convert part of that cash to gold? No. 

Gold is poor's man's complainer thinking (the world is coming to an end) money. It does nothing, it yields nothing, there is no phantom cashflow, it's not amortizable, it's not depreciable, it's not refinancable and it can't be used to trade or compound to make more money. 

It has it's place in a portfolio (say 5%, maybe 10% if you have nothing else to do with your money) as an insurance bet but that's all.
