Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

Vic Neufeld did some things right

Vic Neufeld did some things rightNow that we've had (what I think is) a turn-around Q report, I think we should reflect on ALL of the people at APH who made this all possible.  No doubt Irwin Simon and his new team are the ones responsible for this very positive change, and full kudos to him and the entire staff including the greehouse grunts who often don't get nearly enough credit for their work.  But, we should also acknowledge the previous management who laid a lot of the groundwork for where we're at now.  Vic Neufeld and much of the previous Board are gone, and they deserve to be gone for the underhanded and stupid things some of them did, which cost a lot of longs a lot of money.  But they also made the original decisions re CC Pharma, Broken Coast, LATAM, the state-of-the-art automation and other infrastructure, etc ,etc.  All of which is now beairing fruit - or buds. The role of CC Pharma for example was crucial to yesterday's result::

As with the preceding quarter, most of the Aphria’s revenue, which totalled $128.6-million, came from its German pharmaceutical distribution subsidiary CC Pharma, which did $99.2-million in (non-cannabis) sales.

We got a gold mine here for a net $60 M cost - Brilliant!.   So, blame where blame is due, and credit where credit is due.  Neufeld & co. did do some things right.
