The news leak to the press is not unusual. I was involved in a major acquisition five years ago. The company was acquiring another business that was larger than itself. On the Saturday of a long weekend management discovered that the financial press was on to them. They had to scramble to finish the offer and do a press release on the holiday Monday before markets opened.
