Have a look at
https://www.stockwatch.com/News/Sedardoc.pdf?docid=4367090 3 Property ,Plant and Equipment
Bottom line on page 39
Net Book Value as June 30 2019
$ 10 967 300 000 Number of shares 412 437 000
Book value per share
$ 26,61
This come from their financial report !
Frankly..I'm not sure what your point is.
Are you suggesting that IPL is not worth more than its book value?
All my point is..that book value doesn't tell you what the market value of the asset is....IPL has pipelines in the ground...in the current regulatory environment what would it cost to build an equivalent sytem of pipes?.....IMO...a lot more than $26.61 a share....a company could spend a big proportion of that just trying to get approvals...talk to ENB on how much that costs...
These are the real life factors that go into deciding what to pay for a company along with the math on how to pay for it and get the risk adjusted return you are looking for.
fantome, don't waste time defending obvious point. Some people still using old school evaluating tool and believe anything that look official .
