Therapeutic Cold Laser ( also known as LLLT - Low-Level Laser Therapy) is used to treat a number of conditions. There is a lot of scientific studies to demonstrate the effectiveness of this treatment method.
TheraLase TLC-1000 is able to produce a lot of power ( up to 50,000 mW) but pulses at a high rate (up to 10,000 Hz). This allows the photons to reach deep below the skin to reach various tissues.
LLLT is used for acute ( fresh) conditions, chronic conditions and promotes wound healing. The main effects are listed below.
1) Speeds up healing - improves the exchange of nutrients and waste products to and from cells and produces more ATP energy molecules to speed up processes.
2) Brings down Swelling - anti-inflammatory effect by affecting the Nitric Oxide pathway.
3) Reduces Pain - *** Correction - this is done through the LIPID ABSORPTION PATHWAY instead of through the ion pumps involved in repolarization.
The more detailed biochemical processes affected by the LLLT can be found through the TheraLase website.
