To add, both of his son victor and richard have dual china, canada citizenship.  To say privatization is selling out to china is not 100% correct.  I do believe original LKS exit plan is to sell to china like cnooc or sinopec but environment has changed, harper put in no SOE takeover of canadian oilsand plus current friction with china are not encouragement for a chinese SOE to takeover.  Yes, china did tried to buy husky more than 15 years ago, they disagreed on price, a difference of only $2/share from what insider told me. I won't list what prices were.
