But this was not done when 65% of the mid-stream assets that was illegally stripped for him in compensation for his loss of dividend income and now falling SP since 2015. If the OSC is reviewing this special transaction based on investor complaint, then it might make sense that the going private noise become louder.
I agree with Kherson that the market is being played again and might be a ruse to cover something that is playing out being the scene. What most people don't realize is LKS hardly sells but love to buy at a good discount because it is how he built his empire. The problem is if he really wants to take Husky private. I doubt it and the reason is not so far fetched. It would be a lot of hassle with minority shareholders and public companies have a lot of clout compared to private ones. Moreover, if he is under investigation or Husky is under investigation, going private is not going to happen since regulatory approval is required.
They are firing with all cylinders now and using everything they got. Just like Trudeau and the SNC-Lavalin fiasco, LKS and Husky are getting their baptism of how they have $crewed minority shareholders since 2015. Recall when I started asking analysts about the 65% of the mid0stream assets and why a minority approval was not obtained, and if that transaction is not illegal in Canada, LKS announced his retirement.
The question is, is LKS really retired and was the market played to think change was coming since he is no longer in charge. This going private might be similar and the market is not going to take the bait from the look of things!
maybe you should ask your buddy Greg Pardy at RBC if LKS pay him ror RBC to start this privatization rumor as a marketing ploy of LKS?
