Yahoo Finance and BNN both have daily volumes and average daily volumes. Today trading volume was higher and both websites had identical daily trading volumes of 664,644 shares. The averages are based on different trailing number of days but the 30-day trailing on BNN is ~880,000 so I don't know why your 1.6M is so much higher as the volumes in Aug have been light. Who knows?
