E-cig "juice" is a mixture of glycerin and nicotine and god knows what else.  Hence, that is why you see people exhale a smoke like vapour.  When you vape cannabis you are heating it to  below the combustion point. Just enough to vaporize the thc. Hence no smoke, vapour, nothing.  Its like breathing sweet tasting air only it makes you feel funny.
