There are two possibilities. 1. EL received genuine offer of interest and it will be sold in near future or 2. It was a trap. Those who bought at 6c sold their holding at 9 to 12c and made cool 50-100% profit and poor soul like u and me bought and now under water.

CEO hardly told anything about unsolicited offer in the conference call. 95% of time he was talking about company product as if he was talking to customers and not investors.
