RE:RE:RE:RE:New yearly low..
My worst investment was in 2011 or so in a company called Petrobakken, I was doing my own research but I was like, meh what the hell, let's go with the analyst "top pick". I booked my 25% loss on a deadcat bounced, I also bought Freeporrt McMoran in 2011 at the peak of the copper market, bought the dip and sold the deadcat bounce, broke even, bought back later but sold when management were being sketchy by buying another company they own to have FCX shed their losses, stay away from shitty management and lot of insider ownership means squat, they will f*** you(the shareholders) at every turn.
The oil fracking company were all the rage and look where they're sitting now, Baytex, Crescent point etc. They're all in the dump, the analysts were pumping that junk to retails and look where we're at, oil industry is in shamble. Copper is also in the dump, but I think they'll be there for a while, First Quantum will likely go bust...or become dead-money.
I did invest and exited two company that went bankrupt: Yellow pages and Pacific Rubiales, made profit on both by buying the bottom. At any rate if you think a company is going to go bust, jump ship and take your loss(Valeant is another good example).
I don't think SNCL is quite there yet.
