My 2 cents:

I got the impression Richard Young was a few pages behind the rest of the world in reading Bristow's gameplan for Massawa. He said (something like), "Should Massawa be considered non-core and for sale, we would take a look."

The rest of the world knows it's for sale, but the most obvious buyer doesn't know it's non-core to Barrick?  Is playing dumb some peculiar negotiation tactic?
