I could be wrong, but I’ve seen this before. When they want cover a larger short position, they will put up a large bid and hope people sell to cover their short position, but occasionally if the ask thins out too much, then they can sell back a small amount at the bid, to drop the price on small volume, to make it look like SP is not going up and thus not attract too many other buyers. I could be wrong, but it’s a tactic to cover without making SP run. They are just lucky no major news came out in the meantime.

When Canaccord is selling stock they are either selling shares they have or selling shares they do not have in which case they are shorting.
If they were buying stock they would be adding to their position or covering there Shorts.
The only other way to cover shorts was to cover with the stock purchased on the recent offering.
They may be selling off a large position they have held for some time or shares they just aquiered in the recent offering.
But I do not see how them being on the sell side has them covering shorts. Makes no sence.
Please explain if you have a chance.
