Morals and MoneySome years ago, perhaps three or four, I invested a substantial sum in Torstar, then invested more after perhaps one year had passed and the shares performed poorly, and really, as I think upon it, I have not had any serious inclination to sell these shares, the reasons for which we have detailed together in previous discussions, but I am of the mind that perhaps there is a deeper reason, a reason that goes beyond numbers, beyond calculations, valuations, predictions, and even though it has to be admitted that perhaps mixing and money and morality is a questionable undertaking, I have concluded that Torstar is mostly on the side of good, of goodness, of decency, of truth, or to perhaps be a little less naive, Torstar is less evil than its competitors, and with this in mind, I say to myself, and I say to you, indeed I say to everyone, that wherever there is good, I say, where the seed of goodness is planted, therefrom will greatness follow.
