RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:NewsMost likely an income tax-avoidance strategy, as used by much of the top .1%: live on money borrowed from appreciated assets and you have no "income" and therefore no income taxes. My accountant here in Northern California once told me that none of his high net worth clients paid any income taxes because they all used this strategy, mostly using portfolios of residential and commercial properties. I suppose it also works with a half-billion dollars of Ivanhoe stock.
