Monitoring wouldn't have helped much,I think the compost,and maybe manure they spread was probably weed seed infested.The only products that would help or herbicides like roundup which would kill the weeds and the hemp as not developed to apply to a hemp crop.Also hemp will be checked for herbicides when harvested and would fail.The only thing that might have worked is to hire a couple hundred Mexicans to hand pick the weeds,not cost effective.Have to deep till soil and plant again,only option. Canopy growth harvesting hemp south of me would be interesting to see how their crop made out.
