Parker left because he just couldn't pull the trigger on any acquisitions.
He was a good CEO because he didn't get ripped off acquiring companies at the peak of the market or else it would have been pain for shareholders for another 2-3 years.
He came clean with the board that he just couldn't execute on the strategy he was brought in for in the current market environment where 300% premium have to be paid for acquisitions.
That's my take.
Meanwhile, this is a great buying opportunity here. Come February, share price will be much much much higher.
