Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

with APHA. This can be analyzed as a positive for APHA. We don't want to be in the low margin wholesale business. We are alocating all our inventory to higher margin sales. https://www.streetinsider.com/dr/news.php?id=15991369&gfv=1

Listening to the conference calls, I got the impression that Irwin Simon was never thrilled with being a wholesaler.

If Double Diamond was approved in spring, there would be plenty of supply to satisfy wholesale but at the current run rate the wholesale stream was not a high priority.

Financials will provide a clearer picture.  I’m sure both sides have their reasons.
