Market Cap is neutral in a consolidation. Perhaps you mean increase share price.
Historically, consolidations do not have a good reputation because the management policy of inflating share issues continues, and share consolidation is seen as a method to conceal excessive offerings. I have seen examples where the float is the equivalent of trillions or quadrillions of shares and the price is still a few cents a share, though the current shares number, say, 10 million.
The best way to increase share price is to perform well.
