RE:Need some help understanding

RE:Need some help understandingIt can happen at anytime and all it needs is a NR that mentions that another company or several companies have expressed interest in the company ( Expression of Interest). This will get the SP rising. If another clean offer comes in then we really go higher. Many ways to structure another offer.

Impala had been sniffing around for a bit and had made the deal with Brookfield and then by chance the SP ran up quite hard. This spooked everybody because it would make no sense for the SP to be $25.00 and Brookfield to accept $16.00. So the only way that this offer would make any sense is to rush out the NR and pay the common folks the closing price from the previous Friday close. They had no choice but to pay the common folks this extra kicker because many employees own stock in PDL and there would have been a revolt at the mine if they paid them any less than the Friday's close. Impala did the right thing, it was Brookfield that S hit the bed and left a lot of money on the table. The SP could has risen to $30.00 very easily because of the low float. Now could Brookfield sell 48 million shares at that price?? Not sure but all I know is that at $1,700.00 Pd us small guys would have made a lot more money.
I really believe we could have got at east another $5.00 and Brookfield could have got another $1 or $2 more.
Someone bumps this offer by even another 100 - 200 million and split that  between both parties and it makes a real big difference.
