At first I thought it might have been heavy accumulation for wash trading but doesnt seem to be the case. Your right the most likely case is big players are trying to soak up as much as they possibly can before a major catalyst. Shaking the tree continuously seeing what falls out. They dont seem worried about buying above the PP price and even before the PP was announced the first big volume spike on July 16th gave us strength pushing the SP to .23.

We will likely never know but big volumes and accumulation like this lend to bullish sentiment.
