Surge Energy Inc (Alberta) T.SGY

Alternate Symbol(s):  ZPTAF | T.SGY.DB.B

Surge Energy Inc. is a Canada-based oil focused exploration and production (E&P) company. The Company's business consists of the exploration, development and production of oil and gas from properties in Western Canada. It holds focused and operated light and medium gravity crude oil properties in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, characterized by large oil in place crude oil reservoirs with low recovery factors. It offers exposure to two of the five conventional oil growth plays in Canada: the Sparky and SE Saskatchewan. It holds a dominant land position and is drilling a mix of horizontal multi-frac and horizontal multi-lateral wells in the Sparky area. Sparky is a large, well established oil producing fairway in Western Canada. SE Saskatchewan is a focused operated asset base with light oil operating netbacks. SE Saskatchewan operates low-cost wells with short payouts and offers potential for continued area consolidation.

kherson, you are a total moron. alberta's present mess is a result of its  generosity giving billions in equalization to quebec and the maritimes and then ending up with a land locked oil industry.

Actually, the Federal government redistributes the monies for the Equalization programs, which of course is based on taxes. As for Alberta's land locked oil industry, that is the fault of Alberta. Just maybe someone could have figured out that with all of the new production coming on line over the last few years, maybe someone should plan on how it is going to be transported! If no plan was in place, which it is now proven that there wasn't, Alberta could have at least limited new investment in production!
For the record, I am NOT one of these green fools going around preaching that we need to get off of fossil fuels. But I do believe that oil and gas production needs to tempered to what the Markets can absorb. Besides, the shale boom in the US is about to run out of steam, therefore our oil here in Canada will be more valuable, very soon!
