Quantitative Trading

Quantitative Trading

So, during the fall of the sector, most of the down days (which are most) have been broadly led by quantitive trading from financial institutions. Which is interesting to note, that all of this is based off algorythms. Wondering what these algo's are based off? Does anyone know more about them? I recently saw an article about how some of these systems are loosing money as investors are finding ways to manipulate them and work around them as they arent based off news or projections.

It would be interesting to find out what it takes for them to turn their trend around to start buying rather than selling. As it seems when you mix Quant trading with mass shorting we get this kind of drain in the sector. Ultra low volume today, seems like its going to be another drop day. Which would make sence because I just bought a few hundred more shares on wednesday thinking we had settled. Just my luck. lol
