I'd like to point out that in Sask. about 3-4 years ago the water levels were so high that dams were opened early to aleviate some of the flooding but alas after 3 years of above normal rainfalls the amount of damage from flooding and saturated land was one of the worst in history throughout the whole province... subsequently the rain fall amounts have returned to normal and things are in balance once again.. there's no direct tie to continued droughts anymore than continued flooding... its the ever changing cyclical nature of weather patterns and climate change.. nothing more..! Not to mention the ice masses on the south pole in Antarctica are actally growing as per nasa science and photography.. soooo... I'm not too worried about a glacier that has retreated as they function on a longer time frame than any weather pattern, and god forbid it actually started growing... that would worry me a whole lot more... rememeber the only thing that has affected life on earth regarding extinctions were ICE AGES..!! Thats been proven time and time again.. its the whole basis of the oil and gas industry and why it even exists...

DON'T forget the diner table CONVERSATION KILLER: asteroid strikes especially those BIGGER than a DIAMETER of 10,000+ METERS !!!
A nice large one LEFT a HUGE CRATER in the Gulf of Mexico !!!
We are also DUE for a GEOMAGNETIC REVERSAL in the Earth's MAGNETIC FIELD !!!
Athough it is NOT expected to GENERATE a MASS EXTINCTION event, there is the RISK that the CHANGING POLARITY might NOT be EXECUTED in the proper SPEED and FASHION leading to NASTY cosmic rays BOMBARDING the EARTH and POSSIBLE {?????) ripping apart of the Earth's atmosphere {SCARY STUFFF indeed !!!???!!!}
This is my opinion only.
