o/t: Theoretically of course, can the rate of energy dissipation from the crust moving be controlled in such a fashion so that energy is dissipated over a longer period of time in gentle rumblings versus stored over longer periods of time and then released immediately causing much larger tectonic tremors? I saw something today after work on the drive home and thought to myself, wow, those are very large and what's the special occassion for this visit? So when I got home I checked energy dissipation and found two events at 6.1 and 6.6 on the tectonic scale 50 minutes apart, event one while driving home and noticing, wow, those are very large and what's the special occassion for the visit on that scale of size. Is this a case of resource management and resource allocation? I don't know, maybe it's just a coincidence but then I always say, there are no such things as coincidences and random events. That's the way I C things, how about you?
