RE:RE:RE:RE:TAKEOVER BID ANNOUNCEDGet new colouring markers? Not Christmas, not Easter, so Happy Birthday. Momma must be proud!

Employees in ANY industry pay CPP, capped and matched. Then, it seems, they move to BC to retire and collect their pensions.
No magic there.

RE:RE:TAKEOVER BID ANNOUNCED

...he said, ignoring the fact that CPP contributions are capped.

**********

SO WHAT that they are CAPPED !!!

Are you a grade kid still in ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ???

ALL you have to know is BASIC MULTIPLICATION !!!

ANYBODY working in the oil and gas business in Alberta working FULL TIME paid the MAXIMUM CPP contribution which was MATCHED EQUALY by the EMPLOYER !!!

During the BOOMING times, the number of people employed in the E&Ps was at it's PEAK EMPLOYEMENT (circa 2015) !!!

Fact:

Alberta contributed a NET $ 27 billion in PREMIUMS (incoming premiums MINUS CPP benefits paid) in the CPP during the TEN years ending in 2017 {latest numbers available when the data was released} !!!

This was ALMOST 4 times the net contributions of Ontario which has 3+ times the population !!!

Effectively, an Alberta employee suject to CPP contributions is CONTRIBUTING NET CPP PREMIUMS at 12 times the rate of an Ontario worker !!!

This is my opinion only.
