Spam Solution

I've been happy with the discussions on this bulletin board in general. Sometimes very entertaining and often very informative. I've noticed some messages mostly on other stocks I follow on SH recommending ceo.com

I like the policy they have making it more difficult to become a member i.e. you apply and wait for approval or you apply and pay a $5 fee.

I like that idea, a $5 fee would probably ward off most of the Spam purveyors as a new membership every day would probably cost more than what they could hope for in paid for clicks.

It would unfortunately add a cost to some like my friend Benzo who like to change their ID frequently but I'm sure he could handle the cost as it would only cause a slight delay on the purchase of his next Harry Rossen suit.

I had a look at ceo.com and was quite impressed with some of the posts though I didn't try to join yet.

One post had the latest TDW comments on KL's Nov. 7 earnings. At TDW they raised their target price for KL from C$61 to C$62 ---- WOW they really went out on a limb (typical bankers)

I will hold to my target range of C$75-$80 and by Dec 31 not a year out.

We'll see.

Bottom line of this post though is Stockhouse would do well to try harder to discourage spam.

A one time $5 fee would be a small price to pay to get rid of the spam. It's not just the annoyance factor but also the possibility that one could be directed to a toxic virus laden website by following their links thinking it is just another regular poster.
