RE:RE:RE:RE:carbon neutral goof This thread is ridiculous. Useful, because it’s reflective of the popular discourse right now, but totally ridiculous all the same. Neither Trudeau nor McKenna brought climate change to the forefront of debate to influence MLF, that was done by the scientific community, and their debate took place back in the late 80’s and early 90’s. The issue was settled long ago, and multimillion-dollar companies were leaders in funding this research. They, like MLF, are well aware of the food industry’s impact on climate change, and how the slow but growing awareness of this impact by the public will affect their bottom line. Major food companies across the board are making this turn to diversify, and protect their shareholders, not out of consideration of those most affected by climate change, or political ideals. We can pretend this is a partisan issue, as we have for some time, but momentum is clearly heading in the other direction. Politicians of all stripes will align their proposals with science and the increasing awareness, or get left behind. MLF is late to the party even, but I for one am happy to see them show up.
