RE:RE:David Cockfield on BNN (Fri 11/16)That was not his (Cockfield's) point though - the thinks the dividend is safe, as do I.  Point is, he has stuck with this company and feels that the energy is good value here, as compared to the S&P and TSX indices.

I am with you on the enjoyment of a 14% dividend - what is not to like.   The shorts are handing us a golden opportunity, based on their bet that the company won't be able to access capital, despite the obvious availability of same.  Look at the EURO vs Dollar loan swap they did recently.

I like the climate for stable (not sinking, not accelerating) oil/gas prices and think this is the kind of environment in which VET is programmed to reward shareholders.
