The formulation was (and still is) one of my concerns back when Kaltfking/Penny was pumping this hard. Plain old CBD in olive oil. Then they used the patent as a defense, and claimed no doctor would supposedly approve a different preparation (different how?). Eventually, they claimed to have a novel, stable formulation which completely bypasses first pass effect. How? There's no need for it to be a secret, all they have to do is file a provisional patent. My guess is that it's just administered sublingually.
