RE:and the winner of the debate isI have never seen the space in Toronto, as I left the country before it was complete, but I know that John wanted to make it pretty spectacular, his Crown Jewel, because at the time I believe he wanted to show that "he had arrived" in the broadcaster space. He still has an office in Hamilton, [from his cable MSO days] but I believe that almost all of that is leased out to someone else. Since John lives in Hamilton, I'm sure it's convenient for him to have a desk in a room close to home.
As for NYC, whatever he has running there, I can only imagine it to be minimalistic. John is a thrifty businessman, very smart and leaves little room for waste.
Here's some information relative to that holding. As you can see, there's a wide variety of spaces to choose from, for the cost conscious.
https://www.squarefoot.com/ny/new-york/41-east-11th-street These days, folks like content creators, direct sales and marketing to some degree can work remotely, only needing to come into the office on ocassion. I'd say the NYC address carries some prestige, however, the Charlotte's and Atlanta's of the world are well respected for tech as well. That being said, I wouldn't want to pay NYC wages, but I do understand it's the best spot for bagels.
Interesting slant you propose SHOCK.
My point is that John is not wasteful and is very careful with each move he makes.
