RE:Re MassawaOska and MM - you both bring up good points. Tens of millions would be needed for insfrastructure (not just power, but also roads, mill expansion etc) - and likely TGZ can't handle Massawa alone financially.
Although Barrick is looking to divest itself of non performing assets, it may be forced into a JV deal simply because, realisitically, no one is going to buy Massawa except on the cheap. At this junture, Massawa is not a good project for anyone - but its potentially a great project when you combine resourses. Barrick can always just hold onto Massawa - but its not looking to do that. Of course, TGZ can always team up with another company(s), such as IAG - but that starts to get complicated.
We'll see... but I don't think JV is out of the question...
