RE:RE:To all short sellers posting on this bullboard Well, I will agree to disagree with you about the shorts. I don't blame everything on those shorting but those shorting and disparaging a company especially when it is dispensing false information. I also believe that every investor has to do his homework before investing.
But now about why I feel so much against the shorts:
1 Sorts distort how many shares are truly available to be sold and thus overwhelm the buyers.
They create an illusion of an oversupply of shares that are to be sold.
They do it without the knowledge of the owner of the shares and borrow them from him in a way that he can benefit like paying rent to him.
2 Shorts are not restricted in how many shares they can short before they have to declare to regulatory authorities as those that have a controlling interest or management of the company.
3 naked short selling is also prevalent because it is not policed or regulated enough to stop abuse.
4 Short sellers mislead other investors by half truths and lies.
5 Companies are at the mercy of short sellers because it is very hard to convict them or it would take to much of their resources to do so.
There are over 50.00 million shares shorted of McEwen mining. Considering that Rob McEwen owns about 78.00 million shares and other institutinal investors own a lot of shares, the shorts have gone overboard targeting McEwen mining.
The TSX is where it is today stagnant for about 30 years or going lower all because shorts targeted stocks at Canadian Exchanges. Icould go on and on but I think I've made my point!
