Tesla doesnt have the global foot print nor buying power and all the big auto makers are working on battery technology. When mass production brings the price of battery down you will see big auto makers squeeze out Tesla. Making electric car is relatively esay but putting infrastructure to support them is where Tesla has very little presence. Support infrastructure is what Mitsubishi was lacking and they bought CRJ line to get that global support and know how.
