RE:April 2020Interesting BIT Process Stats: On average, successful BIT claimants were awarded about 40 per cent of the amounts they claimed. Typically 36% of concluded cases favour the state, 37% of cases favour the company, 23% of cases are settled, 10% are dis-continued and 2% indicate a breach with no damages awarded. So if LYD claims $ 1.6 to 1.8 Bn in damages - based on past cases 40% of the amount claimed could be expected - which would be $ 640 Mn to $ 720 mn. If LYD goes this route there is a high probability of winning - however - how long will it take and for how much will be the interesting piece.
