Apple has to consider though that if Huawei jumps in and buys QTRH, it will impact Apple's business tremendously in Asia as patent enforcement is much stronger there.

So Apple can take care of that problem by throwing 500M$US and buying QTRH which is pocket change for them when they have 250 Billion $US in the bank.
