Gentlemen can disagree.IR would have cost QNC a pile over the past three years. PM/JCP have treated shareholder's money responsibly. Very responsibly imo. Regardless, that pump result would have been minimal over this length of time imo... and now QNC has funds to last another couple Q's; they wouldn't have had. Sure the sp priceline would have had more waves, but do waves really matter when we seek the mountains.
When communicating to the marketplace, clarity is king. Sure, JCP could have talked about dreams and theoreticals I guess or about targetting secondary users in the USA and such, but why do so when the patent process is underway at the EU? And when QNC has potential global conversations on deck rather then just regional? Prior to obtaining the Intent to Grant from the EPO, there was no clarity. "Looks good in the states, who knows for the rest of the world." was the message - might have been a "good" message, but now we're teed up for a "great" message. I don't mind waiting for "great". Now there is a true and clear message to deliver. Clearer still, once QNC receives, "Decision ot Grant". Crystal clear then.
I was told very early in my investment, over a breakfast meeting, that management would avoid fluff pr's at all cost. I was told that there are, important, big and critical eyes watching this company. "Eyes" refer to potential customers and not us small, retail, high risk speculators. I expect that said eyes approve of how management has conducted themselves in light of what they've accomplished in moving those patents forward. I might be a lonely voice on this SH board, but I would fully agree on management's conduct. I think management has handled things pretty well perfectly at this stage. (Queue the knife sharpening.) If one needed info, all one had to do is call Pierre.
JCP is a deal maker and has been so for a very long time. Is why he's here. At the end of the day he will be judged on that measure. His hands have been bound to date, but those ropes will be cut once the "Decision to Grant" comes down. We'll see if he disappoints at that time - the crucial time - the when-it-really-counts time.
Lastly, it will be interesting to see what comments are (and where they come from) when this share price hits Dollar Land. A Land that is not too far off in the distance imo. I'm betting that JCP/PM will still be too low key on a personal level for many of you. I'm also betting that they'll deliver. Betting big actually... and expanding that bet with every de-risking event.
