I think faouzi followed michael minder on the cayman island. the paradise for cheats. tim is only the rear guard. 

At least when Michael was there you had someone to talk to. He did like to talk about things but as with most IR types he could not discuss anything material. Had a few long discussions with him. When he went out the door they closed the door.

Don't really expect much to be said in a quarterly/MD&A. I would be very surprised if they in fact have produced any crystals although the Hamamatsu contract was vital to them. If they have faulted on that then the ship has definitely sunk. I do not understand (if one can believe anything of what they reported previously - maybe you can't) how they could build a brand new factory to the point of production and then just shut it down when they have pending orders. There is no sense in that at all.  But mysterious things do seem to happen in China in the industrial world.

At this point, until we hear different, it appears to be the single biggest mistake Faouzi ever made with his decision to move all of his manufacturing into China.

All of the private investment money from Chinese sources seemed to be the carrot on the stick -- but then maybe they ate the carrot. :-))
